Research Overview
We investigate fundamental and applied biophysics using our own innovative physicochemical tools. The biophysical problems that we are interested in range from noncovalent protein-protein interactions on the cell surface, binding strength and selectivity of drug molecules for nucleic acids, frameshifting during protein synthesis, and the role of mechanical force in biology. We are also interested in developing low-field magnetic resonance imaging. The unique methods we have invented include scanning magnetic detection, force-induced remnant magnetization spectroscopy, super-resolution force spectroscopy, exchange-induced remnant magnetization, and force-induced visualization.
